DAY 2:

what can i say about day 2? woke up with a bloody sore back... i mean i love those soft beds which it was but they really do you in! was a bit colder during the night too.

anyone would think we were living on a farm where we were staying. were at this camping ground and there was a duck, a dog and 2 cats. the duck was pretty friendly to.

had our first two games today. lost both of them, no one in our team won a game that day we had to play the number 4 and 5 seeds and we are 13th so it was to be expected but we held our heads up high and moved on to checking out some more sites

christchurch have some good looking men i must say however also some very hairy men almost every male i saw down there had some bit of bum fluff on them... must be to keep warm. heh heh

crashed out at about 8.30 and had some sweet sweet dreams... i said i was suffering jet lag ever tho there isnt a time difference... go figure

    WAS SO MUCH FUN!!!

let me lay it out for you

    sect new zealand map

i live in hamilton (which conventantly isnt on the map but its in the middle of auckland and wellington in the north island) and i was flying to christchurch in the south

    DAY 1:
we arrived in christchurch at about 9.30am thursday with a little turbulance so much fun! when we were flying over we could see the most gorgeous mountains with snow on the tips. looked so beautiful.

we didnt have any games that day just the opening ceremony at 7pm so we hit the malls and i scored myself a very cool guns n roses poster and a cheap cd of course. but it was so blimmin hot i couldnt believe it. its the south island generally known as being a little colder but they sure had us fooled.

we also went into the cathedral square which is right in the middle of christchurch where i saw some buskers playing the doors - light my fire... OMG!

we saw the river avon which has the coolest gondelars you can ride on just like in venise and lots of trams also. trams are pretty cool. i must say christchurch is a bit of a bus city too. so many buses!!!

we climbed the top of the cathedral tower also to look out over cathedral square and it was pretty spectaular.

we made it on the radio there was a radio car parked up in cathedral square giving away free shit so we ran over and got ourselves on the radio... wooohooo

AND THEN! we went to the holy grail which is a pub. my god it was awesome! it used to be an old movie theater and they converted it into a pub. it is 5 levels and has this massive huge screen tv which you can watch sports on etc. it is the home to the crusaders which is a southern rugby team.

    DAY 3:
today we were all in much better spirits. we played the 12th seed first thing in the morning. i won my game however our team lost 2/3. this was our only chance at bettering our seed but twas ok now we just had to maintain 13th place.

won our second game for the day defeating 16th seed 3/2 and winning my game again also!

we decided to go out that night and ended up at this pretty pathetic empires tomb ride but it had some pretty cool effects. was kinda ment for people a bit younger i think but yeah the point of the game was you were in this car that took you through a dark cave and you had to shoot all the warriors you could... i lost hehe

we then found ourselves scouting manchester street which we came to the conclusion as being the south island kay road. kay road is a road in auckland where all the prostitues stand waiting to be picked up by some loser and well manchester street sure as hell wasnt short of any

colder again tonight but we found some heaters

    DAY 4:

    SNOW!!!

it snowed!!! apparently it hasnt snowed in christchurch since 1992. no wonder it was getting so blimmin cold each day!

was absolutly fantastic! we had our finals in the morning and our whole team won so we kept 13th postition. we then went to watch the final finals of number 1 and 2 for males and females... more good looking males there

we then went to prize giving and thats when it started snowing actual snow from the sky! after prize giving it was so beautiful because all the teams got out on the rugby field and snow ball fights together.

now i must say christchurch has some pretty odd things like ducks hanging around on a rugby field of snow... i mean there was no pond anywhere close so god only knows why they were there.

i scored myself a fair play award at the prize giving too

when we were leaving the prize giving/snow ball fights we parked up and made some snow balls and did a drive by to scone the cambridge boys (about 20 minutes from hamilton) and creamed them! bwahahaha

then moved on back to cathedral square where we had our photo taken in the snow infront of the cathedral (will post pictures when i get them) and again started a snow ball fight in the middle of the square where some random guys joined in. must say those christchrurch people are pretty friendly

    DAY 5:

    SLEEP IN!!!

got to sleep in till 9.30... oh yeah, im so lucky... hehe

didnt do shit today except worry we might not be able to fly home because of the snow but thankfully we did

took photos of us with snow men and went back into cathedral square, basically its the middle of christchurch, city centre etc.

did somemore shopping here, found somemore cheap cds and caught up with a friend who used to live in hamilton. saw some freaking awesome watches which came in a guitar case and inside the middle was a picture of the doors. had lep zep and pink flyod ones too. so cool!

went to the airport and went for a ride on a hagglund which is what they use in the snow. that was pretty cool doing doughies in it and up and down hills, through water. would have been more real if it was in actual snow but yeah.

caught plane home and slept in my own glorious bed

First, congartulations on the wins, i'm going to have to look up some information on squash, since i've never played it, and don't think i've ever seen it played.

as for the snow....is that the first time you personally have ever seen snow? or is it just the southerners who hadn't gotten snow in over 12 years?

finally, glad you had a great trip

just looked it up, i don't know how i didn't remember this, but i believe squash is the same as racquetball, and preppy game played by ivy league business men and old people try to get in shape (of course there are exceptions)

that is a fun game, i've played it on occassion and have never really been good at it....

wow...that's kind of weird to even imagine....the not getting snow thing...

typically, about once a year, we get at least some snow, some years it's more than others, and most of the time, it's just enough snow to get the ground and roads wet so it can freeze over....

but still, we've had as much as 12 inches of snow in my lifetime, that was back in January of 1998. i know this because my brother was born in the middle of the snow storm.
